About The Retreat

“Alinghi” was designed by award-winning Australian architect James Grose of Bligh Voller Nield, renowned for his environmentally sensitive design.

The luxury holiday beach house is part of the prestigious and exclusive Rocky Point Estate about 6 kms south of Agnes Water / 1770, Queensland. The private holiday accommodation is set in approximately 14 acres of bushland with just 6 homes on it. Access to the estate is restricted and by invitation only.

There are security gates and resident caretakers. The Rocky Point Estate is absolute beachfront and overlooks the stunning Pacific Ocean.

The holiday house facilities are excellent. “Alinghi” and the other 5 houses have their own private beach at Honeymoon Bay. There is a 30m saltwater swimming pool and entertaining cabana with BBQ facilities as well as a mod grass tennis court. There is direct beach access from the cabana.

The holiday home comprises 2 elements – the Main House & the additional private bedroom Pavillion for a couple . Both are situated around a central platform, a huge stone terrace overhanging the ocean. The view is mesmerising and the sound of the crashing waves is almost hypnotic.

The doors in the bedrooms all open up completely so that you are lulled to sleep by the sound of the ocean and woken by the spectacular sunrises. The neighbouring beach is not called ‘Sunrise Beach’ for nothing!

Features

Main House Sleeps 10 guests

Questions You May Have

Is Alinghi suitable for families with kids?
Absolutely! Alinghi is perfect for both children and adults alike. There are some areas where children do need to be supervised such as the pool and beach but our Caretakers will go through this with you on arrival.

Does the property have baby facilities such as a cot & high chair?
The property does not carry these items as they do vary according to height and weight and age of the child. However they can be hired locally at an extra cost.

Can the Master Bedroom Pavilion be rented on its own?
All cooking and dining facilities are in the Main Pavilion so the Master Bedroom Pavilion can only be rented in conjunction with the Main Pavilion.

Is there a BBQ at the property?
Alinghi does have a gas BBQ but there is also a BBQ and dining/entertaining area at the poolside cabana which is part of the estate facilities.

Does Alinghi have a private pool?
Alinghi does not have a private pool but the Estate does have a fantastic 30 mt saltwater swimming pool by the BBQ cabana, a few mins walk away.

Do guests need to bring linen and other supplies?
The house comes fully equipped with everything you may need including beach towels and tennis racquets. The kitchen has basic pantry cupboard supplies such as tea, coffee, sugar, etc but guests will need to organise their own food supplies.

Can you organise a private chef?
This does depend on availability. Chefs come and go all the time, so it does depend on who is available at the time.

Can Alinghi be booked for special celebrations such as Weddings?
Unfortunately Alinghi cannot be booked for weddings, Hen or Stag celebrations or schoolies breaks.

Trip Advisor Review

Just finished a week staying in alinghi at 1770. The views were amazing with a private beach below and from the deck we saw whales migrating south.

Will & Maxine Davidson

Our group had a wonderfully peaceful and relaxing week at alinghi. We loved the large salt water pool (which we almost always had to ourselves), the abundant wild life and the constant views of the ocean (we saw whales too!).

Trip Advisor Review

We had great expectations and we were not disappointed. The experience began with a picture perfect day and a brief introduction on the property from Kelli, more on the help Kelli provided later.

Larry Gordon

On a number of sites this house has been rated as the being in the top 5 beach houses in the world, this is clearly no idle boast. Our two families just had a week, admittedly we were blessed with sensational weather, in this paradise.

Scott Moses

Exquisite part of the world. A beautiful place to hide away from the world and recharge our batteries for the year to come. Thankyou.
